The DM1100 ExcelBand™ 50 bp DNA Ladder is a ready-to-use DNA ladder, which is pre-mixed with loading dye for direct gel loading. The DNA ladder DM1100 is composed of 17 individual DNA fragments: 1.5k, 1.2k, 1k, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500, 450, 400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 150, 100, and 50 bp derived from a mixture of PCR products and specifically digested plasmid DNA. This product contains two enhanced bands (500 bp and 200 bp) for easier reference. In addition, the low range Orange G tracking dye mimics the migration of a 50 bp dsDNA during electrophoresis is also added for real time monitoring.

Mycoplasma is a common and serious contaminant of cell cultures. Mycoplasma is often not visible and does not respond to antibiotics, and therefore it is a major issue that requires monitoring and early detection. Up to 30% of cell cultures may be contaminated with Mycoplasmas, the main contaminants being the species M. orale, M. laidlawii, M. arginini and M. hyorhinis. These organisms produce a variety of effects on the infected cells in culture, including changes in metabolism growth, viability and morphology, thereby altering the phenotypic characteristics of the host cells. Therefore there is an absolute requirement for routine, periodic assays to diagnose possible Mycoplasma contamination of all cell cultures, particularly continuous or established cell lines.

Storage Conditions and Product Stability All kit components can be stored for 2 years after the date of production without showing any reduction in performance.
All kit components should be stored at -20°C upon arrival. Repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 x) of the Master Mix and Positive Control should be avoided, as this may affect the performance of the assay. If the reagents are to be used only intermittently, they should be frozen in aliquots.

Main Functions
Rapidly Extract viral DNA/RNA from 200μl non-cell/low cell content biological samples such as body fluid, serum, plasma, urine, immersion solution, tissue homogenate supernatant, etc.
This product is based on silica gel purification. The sample is lysed and digested with lysate and protease, DNA/RNA is released into the lysate. Transfer to an adsorption plate and filter column. DNA/RNA is adsorbed on the membrane, while protein is not adsorbed and is removed with filtration. After washing proteins and other impurities, DNA / RNA was finally eluted with low-salt buffer (10 MmTris, pH 8.0).

Storage and Stability
Proteinase K should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival. However, short-term storage (Proteinase K up to 8 weeks) at room temperature (15–25°C) does not affect their performance. The remaining kit components can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) and are stable for 18 months under these conditions.
