This fast screening test kit contains 10 tests with everything needed for accurate results of unsafe lead levels in the field.
This is a revolutionary product designed to make Lead testing in water safe, easy, and affordable. This fast screening test kit contains 10 tests with everything needed for accurate results of unsafe lead levels. With reliable results in only 10 minutes, this test kit clearly gives results confirming Lead in water and conforming to the EPA guideline of 15 ppb (µg/L). The kit can test water quality from various sources including faucets, wells (ground water), and home purification systems.
Standards and Regulations for Lead [ACCLPP 2012]
High Blood lead levels (i.e., greater than 700ppb) can cause serious health effects, including seizure, coma, and death. Blood levels as low as 100ppb have been associated with adverse effects on cognitive development, growth, and behavior among children aged 1-5 years.
Sample method:
1. Take a first-draw sample
Immediately after opening a faucet or valve, collect a 250 mL sample. This sample should be from each tap used for consumption.
2. Take a flush sample
If first-draw sample results show elevated lead levels of 5 ppb or higher, collect a flush sample. To do this, ensure water has not been used for between 8 to 18 hours, then collect the sample at 30 seconds.
3. Take sequential samples
If you want to test a lead service line, collect 8 to 10 sequential samples, depending on how far the line is from the tap.
Screening of Lead in water samples 5-10 ppb
Format: 10 tests (5 tests/5 controls)
Run Time: 15 Minutes
Norgen’s Milk DNA Preservation and Isolation Kit is an all-in-one solution designed for 1) preservation of DNA in milk samples at ambient temperature; and 2) isolation of high quality DNA within a laboratory setting. The kit is provided with a Preservation Solution that allows for either immediate processing of milk samples, or allows for the storage of the milk samples for up to 1 month at room temperature prior to DNA isolation. Genomic DNA extracted from somatic cells and bacteria found in milk can be used in various applications. The isolated DNA can be used for the detection of biomarkers to diagnose a disease, follow the diseases progress or monitor the effects of a particular treatment. Milk DNA can also be used to diagnose particular types of infections. Milk DNA purified using Norgen’s kit is of the highest quality, and is compatible with a number of downstream applications including PCR, Southern Blot analysis, sequencing and microarray analysis.
Milk DNA Preservative
Norgen’s Milk DNA Preservation Solution is an aqueous storage buffer designed for rapid cellular lysis and subsequent preservation of DNA from fresh specimens. The preservative prevents the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and also inactivates viruses allowing the resulting non-infectious samples to be handled and shipped safely. In addition, the preservative eliminates the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperature. The components of the preservative allow samples to be stored for 1 month without any detectable DNA degradation.

Storage Conditions and Product Stability
The Proteinase K should be stored at -20°C upon arrival and after reconstitution. All other solutions should be kept tightly sealed and stored at room temperature. This kit is stable for 2 years after the date of shipment.
Storage in Preservation Buffer
1) Storage at -20°C is recommended for archival samples and will provide optimal preservation. The preservation buffer will freeze at -20°C. Samples can be stored indefinitely at -70°C.
2) Samples can be stored at room temperature (25°C) for up to 1 month without significant loss of DNA quality.
3) DNA has also been successfully isolated from samples stored at 37°C 1 for one week.

Introduction
Magen’s HiPure columns are prepared by high quality glass fiber filter membrane as raw materials through membrane cutting, membrane release, ring release, ring pressing, gland, weighing and other processes. HiPure nucleic acid adsorption columns have the characteristics of long-term stability and high binding capacity. Experiments show that the highest binding capacity and binding efficiency of HiPure nucleic acid adsorption columns are basically unchanged when stored at room temperature for 4 years.
The series of nucleic acid columns produced by Magen Biotech are based on carefully selected imported glass fiber membranes (GF/B, GF/D, GF/F). Columns production processes such as polypropylene injection molding materials, injection molding process, and downstream membrane packing and compression rings are strictly controlled. This is to ensure that the column has extremely high adsorption capacity and long-term stability. Compared with conventional products on the market, Magen’s columns are with varieties, and binding rate will not change when stored at room temperature for 4 years.

Adsorption Mechanism
Based on the negatively charged DNA skeleton, it has a high affinity for positively charged glass fibers. In high salt and ethanol solutions, DNA/RNA binds to glass fiber and interacts with hydrophilic matrix on silica through hydrogen bond. DNA/RNA is tightly bound. All pollutants can be removed by washing solution. At high salt concentration, nucleic acids selectively bind to silicagel membrane, while other pollutants, mainly proteins, are removed by membrane washing.
