Test Principle
IgG antibodies are resposible for the heparin induced thrombocytopenia.
Immobilized anti-human IgG on the membrane of the test unit binds patients IgG-antibodies which are previously captured by the PF4/polyanion-complex which is detected by intensely colored gold nanoparticles.
The presence of PF4/polyanion-complex becomes visible at a colored test line. The surplus of gold particles continues to migrate through the membrane and is captured at the control line by specific antibodies.

Mastitis is the single most costly disease of dairy cattle resulting in the reduction of milk yield and quality. The inflammation of the udder is mainly caused by infection of various bacteria. One of such mastitis bacteria, Streptococcus agalactiae, is highly infectious and causes mainly subclinical infections, which are not identified by the herdsman. As a result, S. agalactiae can spread widely within a herd, causing immediate loss due to reduced milk. S. agalactiae is a gram-positive bacteria belonging to the Group B streptococci. Traditional cultural identification of S. agalactiae is based on S. agalactiae being beta-hemolytic as well as presence of group B Lancefield antigen and by its ability to hydrolyze sodium hippurate.

Norgen’s Stool Nucleic Acid Collection and Preservation Tubes are designed for the rapid preservation of nucleic acids from fresh stool specimens. The Stool Nucleic Acid Collection and Preservation Tubes contain Norgen’s Stool Preservative in a liquid format. The user simply collects stool into the tubes (fill up to the line indicated on the tube) and mixes gently until the stool is well submerged under the preservative. The Stool Preservative prevents the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and also inactivates viruses allowing the resulting non-infectious samples to be handled and shipped safely. In addition, the Stool Preservative eliminates the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperatures. The components of the Stool Preservative allow samples to be stored at room temperature for over 2 years for DNA and 7 days for RNA. To extend the stool RNA stability in the preservative, storage at -20°C or -70°C is recommended at the arrival to testing facilities until the RNA purification.
