R-Phycoerthyrin (R-RPE) Streptavidin Conjugate designed for Lateral Flow
Our Streptavidin R-Phycoerythrin conjugates are manufactured from a red algae and the first of its kind protein based fluorescent particles specifically desinged for lateral flow applications. R-RPE is a highly absorptive fluorescent molecule that has excellent detectability. It is the fluorochrome of choice when the brightest signal is needed and is therefore used most often when high sensitivity is essential for detectability and/or accuracy.
Consistent lot-to-lot performance resulting from continuous culture of source organisms and high purity. – Very high water solubility – Homogeneous structure with defined molecular weights – Total control on growth conditions and nutrition, which avoids contamination from extraneous organisms and waste found in the open ocean. Proteins are harvested at the optimal stage of the growth cycle to assure uniform product characteristics. The pigment is extracted and stabilized within minutes of harvest, virtually eliminating risks from the action of proteases.

Overview
Reliable and cost-effective
Non-invasive, user-friendly sample collection and preservation in one convenient kit
Preserved DNA is stable for 2 years at ambient temperature
High quality DNA is suitable for sensitive downstream applications including PCR, qPCR, sequencing, SNP analysis, microarrays, RFLP and Southern Blot Analysis
Norgen’s Saliva DNA Collection and Preservation Devices are designed for 1) simple and non-invasive saliva collection and 2) preservation of DNA in saliva samples at ambient temperature. Each of the 50 Saliva DNA Collection and Preservation Devices consists of 3 components:
Saliva Collection Funnel and Collection Tube
Collection Tube Cap
Norgen’s Saliva DNA Preservative contained within a sealed squeezable ampoule
Saliva samples are collected by spitting inside the Collection Funnel which has been assembled with the Collection Tube. After collecting the required volume of saliva the Collection Funnel is removed and the contents of the Preservative Ampoule are then added and mixed with the collected saliva. The Saliva Collection Tube is subsequently sent to the laboratory for DNA isolation and analysis. DNA can be isolated from the preserved saliva samples using Norgen’s Saliva DNA Isolation Kit (Cat. RU45400). Each of Norgen’s Collection Tubes is labeled with a unique serial number that can be used for secure and anonymous tracking of the sample. The saliva DNA in preserved samples is stable for more than 2 years at room temperature. This kit is ideal for collecting and preserving DNA samples for epidemiological and population studies.
Saliva DNA Preservative
Norgen’s Saliva DNA Preservative is an aqueous storage buffer designed for rapid cellular lysis and subsequent preservation of DNA from fresh specimens. The buffer prevents the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and also inactivates viruses allowing the resulting non-infectious samples to be handled and shipped safely. In addition, the buffer eliminates the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperature. The components of the buffer allow samples to be stored for more than 2 years without any detectable DNA degradation.
When stored at room temperature, unused Norgen Saliva Preservative Tubes are stable through to the collect-before date without any reduction in performance. Please see the device insert or tube label for collect-before date.
Once collected, saliva is stable for more than 2 years when kept tightly sealed and stored at room temperature.
The Collection Tube, the Collection Funnel and the Device Container of each Individual Saliva DNA Collection and Preservation Device are recyclable.

Purification is based on Norgen’s proprietary Silicon Carbide resin matrix
Norgen’s Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Kits (Slurry Format) provide efficient methods for the purification of fragmented free-circulating DNA from human plasma or serum. The kit is able to isolate all sizes of circulating DNA. The slurry format provides an advantage over other available kits in that it does not require extension tubes for the purification of free-circulating DNA from large sample volumes. DNA can be isolated from either fresh or frozen samples using this kit. The kit will also isolate viral and bacterial DNA from plasma/serum. Typical yields of purified free-circulating DNA will vary depending on the input sample (1-100ng/mL circulating DNA in human plasma), with more concentrated samples tending to yield more free-circulating nucleic acids. The purified, inhibitor-free plasma/serum free-circulating DNA is eluted in an elution solution that is compatible with PCR, qPCR, methylation-sensitive PCR and Southern Blot analysis.
Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Mini Kit (Slurry Format)
Norgen’s Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Mini Kit (Slurry Format) provides a fast, reliable and simple procedure for isolating circulating DNA from various amounts of plasma/serum ranging from 50 μL to 400 μL. Preparation time for a single sample is less than 30 minutes.
Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Midi Kit (Slurry Format)
Norgen’s Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Midi Kit (Slurry Format) provides a fast, reliable and simple procedure for isolating circulating DNA from various amounts of plasma/serum ranging from 400 μL to 2 mL. Preparation time for a single sample is less than 45 minutes.
Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Maxi Kit (Slurry Format)
Norgen’s Plasma/Serum Circulating DNA Purification Maxi Kit (Slurry Format) provides a fast, reliable and simple procedure for isolating circulating DNA from various amounts of plasma/serum ranging from 2 mL to 10 mL. Preparation time for a single sample is less than 45 minutes.
Okadaic Acid (OA) is a one of the diarrhetic shellfish poisons (DSP) produced by dinoflagellate genera Dinophysis and Prorocentrum. There are several chemically different toxins associated with DSP.
They are lipophilic and polyether compounds and can be divided into three main groups:
Acidic toxins
Neutral toxins
Other toxins 2 Contamination of shellfish with OA has been associated with harmful algae blooms throughout the world.
In humans, DSP causes dose-dependent symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. The action levels established by the FDA for OA is 200ppb. The EU has established a level of 160 ppb of OA or its equivalent.
The Attogene Okadaic acid ELISA kit enables international and government regulatory agencies, food manufacturers and processors, as well as quality assurance organizations to detect OA in food, feed, fish, and environmental samples of concern.
Okadaic acid is the causative agent of Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning (DSP).
