Overview
Heat sealing offers a 100% effective method of plate sealing, for complete seal integrity, as well as being quick and cost effective.
Our Individual Access Peel Heat Seal is a laminate seal compatible with polypropylene plates, featuring 96 individual foil seal spots or 12 strips of individual spots on a removable backing.
These seals result in individually sealed tubes/strips, and they can be removed from polypropylene plates by peeling, even with a plate which has been removed directly from -80°C storage.
Individual Access Peel Heat Seal forms a complete seal to a plate enabling very low temperature uses, including very low temperature storage, and high temperature uses, such as PCR (when used with a pressurized heated lid).
The seal demonstrates moderate solvent resistance and can be utilized for short term compound storage at room temperature.
This seal is available as sheets, for use with manual and semi-automated sealers, such as our Semi-Automated Sheet Heat Sealer (using the 59-2005 Individual Access adapter).
MutS Homolog 2 (MSH2) is a protein involved in the mismatch-repair pathway. This protein is commonly associated with hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, and mutations in this gene are correlated with the development of sporadic colorectal carcinoma. Expression levels of MSH2 are abnormally low in a high percentage of patients with microsatellite instability, as well as endometrial and ovarian cancers. Use of Anti-MSH2 is optimized when paired in an IHC panel with antibodies against MSH6, MLH1, and PMS2. Reports have shown Anti-MSH2 to be useful in the detection of the protein in a number of normal and neoplastic tissues, and for identifying a loss of MSH2 in tumors that are microsatellite-unstable.

Overview
Detection kits for HCV
Available in TaqMan format for analysis
Hepatitis C virus infection is a major cause of chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) worldwide. Neither a vaccine nor an effective treatment is available for HCV. Pegylated interferon-α (PEG-IFN- α), combined with ribavirin, is the current standard therapy. Its efficiency ranges between 20-80%, depending on the HCV genotype. Unfortunately, many HCV infected patients do not respond to or do not tolerate the IFN-based therapy. Therefore, the number of patients progressing to HCC, as a result of HCV infection, is expected to increase over the next 20-30 years. The natural history of the disease reveals the elusive nature of the virus in a number of features. First, the infection is often detected incidentally at the time of blood donation as the acute infection is clinically asymptomatic in most patients. Second, HCV successfully escapes multi-specific host immune responses in the majority of patients which establishes persistent infection. Third, a significant number of persistently infected individuals remain unaware of the infection for decades, until liver fibrosis, cirrhosis and/or hepatocellular carcinoma develop.

Principle
The HiPure system uses a simple bind-wash-elute procedure. Gel slices are dissolved in a buffer containing a pH indicator, allowing easy determination of the optimal pH for DNA binding, and the mixture is applied to the column. Nucleic acids adsorb to the silica-gel membrane in the high-salt conditions provided by the buffer. Impurities are washed away and pure DNA is eluted with a small volume of low-salt buffer provided or water, ready to use in subsequent applications.
Advantages
High recovery efficiency – ≥80% DNA recovery
Fast – isolation can be completed in 10 minutes by column gel method
